Captura

Captura provides a scalable, low-cost direct ocean capture (DOC) carbon removal solution that produces a measurable stream of CO2 for sequestration with only seawater and renewable energy. This process requires no external additives, produces no byproducts, requires no freshwater, has a minimal land footprint, and can operate with intermittent power. The technology has been fully demonstrated at a 100-tonne scale since November 2023, and Captura is deploying a 1,000-tonne system in Q1 2025.

Skyrenu is developing an integrated capture system for businesses engaged in carbon management, using a modular direct-air capture (DAC) device that produces high-concentration CO2 for on-site sequestration. Their proprietary process employs moving cells with distinct sorption and desorption reactors, ensuring efficient CO2 capture and release. This results in more efficient energy use and reduced sorbent material for a given capacity.
